  1. I believe that President Obama should not have met with Prof. Gates and Sgt. Crowley, because this incident was a local (Cambridge, MA) occurrence.

    For President Obama to believe that this confrontation occurred because Prof. Gates is black, indicates that the President is not viewing this situation with an objective perspective. The fact is that if a white man reacted to Sgt. Crowley in the same manner that Prof. Gates reacted, that white man would have also been arrested.

    In incidents like this one, we need to prioritize our reactions, by reviewing what occurred first, and then deciding whether or not the police response was due to racial profiling.
